The Songs From Nimrod

This is just to give you an in-depth look at some of the songs off the album...
  1. Nice Guys Finish Last
This is a pretty good opening. It's very catchy. I can always get the tune in my head. But watch out, because it's easy to get sick of.
  2. Hitchin' A Ride
Well, this is the single... so if you bothered to look at my page this far, you probably know about it already. I love this song. It sounds a lot like "Brainstew," only it's not as repetitive.
  3. The Grouch
Somehow this seems more like a Mike or Tre song than a Billie Joe song. It's pretty good though.
  4. Redundant
Pretty good song. This is one of my favorites, because it actually has a hint of the sweet romantic stuff that is absent in most Green Day songs lately.
  5. Scattered
I don't know why this song isn't more memorable, because it's really a great song. Nice melody, nice lyrics.
  6. All the Time
Similar to the first song. Pretty good, but just a little TOO catchy....
  7. Worry Rock
I think this is my favorite of all the songs on this album. It reminds me a little of the better stuff on Insomniac and Dookie.
  8. Platypus (I Hate You)
Much like "Jaded," only it isn't a bad song.
  9. Uptight
  10. Last Ride In
The only purely instrumental Green Day song I've ever heard. Well, it's okay, but I don't generally like instrumental songs. So I programmed my CD-player to skip it.
  11. Jinx
  12. Haushinka
Another romantic song in a mess of Insomniac-type songs. Not the best, but still pretty good. It's sort of reminscent of the old Green Day stuff from the very first album.
  13. Walking Alone
Ooh, this one uses a harmonica. It's pretty cool, but sort of sad. I wonder who plays the harmonica...
  14. Reject
I like this song! I don't know why, but it's just really good. I don't understand exactly what it's about, but it has a nice tune.
  15. Take Back
This song is weird and not very substantial.
  16. King For A Day
Great lyrics! "Who put the 'drag' in drag queen?" It sounds like a carnival song or something. Actually, I liked it before I even knew what the lyrics were.
  17. Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)
Too soft. I thought Green Day had cured themselves of that after Insomniac... However, it has become a hit and made a lot of people into Green Day fans. So I guess I can't bash it.
  18. Prosthetic Head
I got a tip that this will be the next single from Nimrod. I think of all the songs, it is the most deserving to achieve single status, even though it's not the best song.

I hope these don't sound at all harsh. I love Nimrod and Green Day is the best band I know.
